The Buy Shop — Returns, Refunds, Cancellations & Layaway

Our standard policy

We do not offer discretionary cancellations, returns, exchanges, or refunds for change of mind, personal preference, or a size selected by the customer where the item was accurately described. These purchases are final sale unless you have cancellation, withdrawal, refund, or other remedy rights under applicable law.

Mandatory consumer rights take priority over this policy and any final-sale wording on a product page, receipt, promotion, or layaway agreement. The regional provisions below explain important exceptions. They apply according to the law governing your purchase, not simply your nationality.

Please review the item's description, condition, measurements, photographs, and included accessories before ordering. Contact us if you need more information. Pre-owned status, a discounted price, or a final-sale label does not by itself remove your statutory rights.

For notices, returns, and questions, contact us using these details. Please provide your name, order number if available, and enough information to identify your purchase. You do not need a particular form to exercise a statutory cancellation right.

Authenticity, defects, damage, and incorrect items

We guarantee the authenticity of the items we sell. Authenticity and the condition described in the listing form part of your purchase agreement. An item that is not authentic or does not match its description is not covered by our exclusion of change-of-mind returns.

If your item is faulty, damaged, incorrect, materially different from its description, or raises an authenticity concern, contact shop@thebuyshop.la promptly. Please describe the issue and, where reasonably available, include photographs and supporting information. For shipping damage, please retain the packaging if possible.

There is no 24-hour deadline under this policy. Missing packaging, an inability to provide photographs, or failure to report an issue immediately does not by itself remove your legal rights. Applicable statutory notification and claim periods still apply.

We will assess the issue and provide the remedy required by applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, a price reduction, a refund, or compensation. Where the law gives you the choice of remedy, that choice remains yours. Any assessment or authentication process will not suspend statutory deadlines or make us the sole final judge of your legal rights.

We will bear return or collection costs where required for a valid faulty-goods or other statutory claim. We will not require store credit in place of a refund to which you are legally entitled.

European Union, United Kingdom, and Norway: online cancellation and withdrawal

For covered consumer purchases made online, you may cancel without giving a reason from the time the contract is made until the end of the applicable withdrawal period. You may cancel before shipment, while the parcel is in transit, or after delivery within that period.

The usual deadline is 14 calendar days after the day you, or a person you nominate other than the carrier, receive the goods. If several goods from one order are delivered separately, the period begins after receipt of the last good; for an item delivered in multiple lots or pieces, it begins after receipt of the last lot or piece. Longer periods, extensions for missing required information, and applicable weekend or public-holiday rules remain available where provided by law.

How to notify us

Send a clear statement of your decision to withdraw to shop@thebuyshop.la or the postal address above. You may use the optional withdrawal form at the end of this policy, or another legally valid method. Sending your notice before the deadline is sufficient; withdrawal does not depend on our approval.

Online requests: The website’s Returns and cancellations link opens your customer-account sign-in page. You may use the return or cancellation options available for your order there. If an option is unavailable, send your notice to shop@thebuyshop.la; your statutory right does not depend on account access or our approval.

Returning your purchase

Send the goods back without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying us of withdrawal, unless a longer period applies. The deadline is met if you dispatch the goods before it expires. You may contact us for routing assistance, but our response or a return authorization number is not a condition of valid withdrawal.

For a change-of-mind statutory withdrawal, you pay the direct return shipping cost if we informed you of that responsibility before purchase. If we failed to provide the required disclosure, or the law otherwise makes us responsible, we will bear that cost. This allocation does not apply to faulty, damaged, misdescribed, or incorrect goods where we must pay.

You may examine the goods as necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning, as you would in a shop. You are responsible only for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond that level, and only where the law permits it. We do not impose a blanket restocking fee or automatically reject a statutory withdrawal because packaging or tags were removed.

Reimbursement

We will reimburse payments due for the withdrawn purchase, including the cost of our least expensive standard outbound delivery where applicable, without undue delay and normally within 14 days after receiving your withdrawal notice. Extra costs for a more expensive delivery service you expressly selected need not be reimbursed.

Unless we have offered to collect the goods, we may withhold reimbursement until we receive the returned goods or evidence that you have sent them back, whichever occurs first, to the extent permitted by law. We will then reimburse without undue delay and within the applicable legal deadline.

We will use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. A valid statutory withdrawal also applies to eligible layaway purchases: deposits and instalments cannot be forfeited because you exercise that right.

Ordinary pre-owned luxury goods are not excluded merely because they are used, valuable, discounted, or marked final sale. Any product-specific statutory exception must actually apply and be disclosed as required before purchase. We do not treat all jewelry or accessories as automatically exempt.

Faulty-goods rights are separate

The withdrawal period is not the deadline for reporting a defect. EU consumers benefit from a minimum two-year legal conformity guarantee, with longer national protection and applicable extensions following repair or replacement preserved. This policy does not shorten statutory protection for secondhand goods. UK consumers retain the short-term right to reject qualifying faulty goods, generally within 30 days, and subsequent repair, replacement, price-reduction, or rejection rights where applicable. Norwegian consumers retain applicable two- or five-year complaint periods, depending on the goods, and other mandatory rights.

South Korea

Where Korean electronic-commerce consumer law applies, you may ordinarily cancel an eligible online purchase within seven days after receiving the required contract information, or after delivery if delivery occurs later. Statutory extensions apply where required information is missing or exercise of the right has been obstructed.

Where the goods differ from the advertisement or contract, the separate statutory cancellation right allows cancellation within three months after receipt or within 30 days after you knew or should have known of the discrepancy, in accordance with applicable law. This does not exclude other remedies available under law.

Notify us by email, through the online account route described above, or another legally valid method. A written cancellation takes effect when sent. Return the goods following cancellation. We will refund the amounts due within three business days after receiving returned goods, or within three business days after cancellation where the goods have not been supplied, as applicable.

You bear lawful return costs for an ordinary change-of-mind cancellation; we bear them where the goods differ from the advertisement or contract. We do not charge a cancellation penalty for exercising the statutory right. Any restriction based on customer-caused damage, use, or another statutory exception applies only when its legal requirements are satisfied. Opening packaging merely to inspect the contents does not by itself remove the right.

Israel

Where Israeli distance-selling consumer law applies, you may ordinarily cancel an eligible purchase from the transaction date until 14 days after receiving the goods or the required disclosure document, whichever is later. Qualifying consumers with a disability, senior citizens, and new immigrants may have an extended four-month period where the transaction involved the required conversation with the seller, including qualifying electronic communication.

You may notify us by telephone, orally at our business, by registered mail, by email, or through the online account route described above, as applicable. We will refund the amounts due and cancel relevant charges within 14 days after receiving your notice.

For a change-of-mind cancellation, return the goods to our return address. Any cancellation fee must have been disclosed before purchase and be permitted by law; it will not exceed the lower of 5% of the transaction price and NIS 100. No cancellation fee applies where the statutory grounds prohibit one, including defects, nonconformity, late delivery, or another breach by us. For those cases, we will arrange collection where legally required.

Product use does not automatically extinguish the statutory cancellation right. Any claim relating to a significant deterioration in condition remains subject to applicable law.

Australia and New Zealand

Our exclusion of discretionary change-of-mind returns does not exclude consumer guarantees or other mandatory rights.

Australia: Where the Australian Consumer Law applies, goods must meet its consumer guarantees. For a major failure, you may choose a refund or replacement and may also have rights to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For a failure that is not major, you are entitled to have it remedied within a reasonable time, with further rights if that does not happen.

New Zealand: Where the Consumer Guarantees Act applies, goods must meet its statutory guarantees. Depending on the failure and whether it is remedied within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to repair, replacement, rejection and refund, or compensation. Nothing in this policy contracts out of those rights for consumer purchases.

Special layaway cancellation rights are explained below.

Canada

Applicable provincial and territorial consumer rights take priority over our standard policy. These may include cancellation and refund rights arising from missing or incorrect disclosures, failure to provide the contract, delayed or failed delivery, unfair practices, and goods that do not meet legal warranties.

The available grounds, notice requirements, return arrangements, and refund deadlines depend on the province or territory. We will honor those requirements, including return costs and refunds without deductions where required. This policy does not require Canadian consumers to surrender mandatory local legal protections or dispute-resolution rights.

Japan

For correctly supplied, non-defective goods, our standard policy is that change-of-mind returns and cancellations are not accepted. This return condition must be disclosed as required before you place your order. If that disclosure is not effective and Japanese law provides a default return right, that right remains available, including the applicable eight-day mail-order return right. Rights concerning defective or nonconforming goods are separate and are not excluded.

Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates

Our standard change-of-mind policy applies except where the law governing your transaction gives you additional rights. It does not exclude applicable remedies for defective, unsafe, misdescribed, counterfeit, undelivered, or otherwise nonconforming goods, or for misleading or unfair practices. We will apply the legally required remedy, return-cost allocation, and refund deadline to your claim.

United States

Our standard final-sale policy applies only to the extent permitted by applicable federal and state law. It does not exclude remedies for breach of warranty, misrepresentation, defective or incorrect goods, or other legally protected claims.

If we cannot ship within the promised time, or within the applicable default period when no shipping time was promised, we will provide the delay notice, cancellation option, consent process, and prompt refund required by the FTC's Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule where it applies. Verification checks do not override these obligations.

Layaway

Layaway is currently available only in the United States, for eligible individual items priced at $500 or more and US shipping addresses. By activating a new layaway with a 10% deposit, you agree to pay the remaining balance in full within 90 calendar days of activation. Choose the dates and amounts of your additional payments within that period and authorize each payment manually through your Partial.ly customer account. Additional payments are not automatically scheduled or charged. There are no late fees or credit reporting. US shipping is free; applicable sales tax is included in your confirmed total. We reserve the item and ship it only after the full agreed balance has been paid. Existing layaways retain their originally agreed terms and deadline.

Before accepting a deposit, we will provide the written terms for that individual plan, including the item and its condition, total price and itemized charges, deposit, payment schedule, final payment date, holding period, any grace period, cancellation arrangements, and any lawful cancellation charge. We will provide a copy and record payments received.

Deposits and instalments are not automatically forfeited. A cancellation charge, if any, must be clearly stated in the individual agreement, legally valid for the transaction, and no greater than the law allows. We will explain any lawful deduction and refund the remaining amount within the applicable deadline. No charge applies to a statutory cancellation where the law prohibits a charge.

If your layaway is not paid in full by the agreed 90-day deadline, it may be canceled and payments already made may be forfeited only to the extent permitted by applicable law. We will follow the agreement and any legally required notice and opportunity to remedy the default before canceling. Payments are not automatically forfeited; we will not treat a missed payment as permission to retain all payments. Any deduction must be disclosed and lawful, and amounts required to be refunded will be refunded within the applicable deadline.

If, before the layaway period ends, the item becomes unavailable in the agreed condition, we will refund the deposit and all subsequent payments. Any additional remedies required by law remain available.

Australia: For a covered lay-by, you may cancel at any time before delivery. Any previously disclosed termination charge will be limited to reasonable costs permitted by law. We will not charge a termination fee if we cancel the agreement or if you cancel because of our breach.

New Zealand: For a covered layby, you may cancel before the final payment. We will immediately refund payments less only a reasonable, properly disclosed cancellation charge where lawful. We will provide the written agreement and account information required by law.

Other destinations: Statutory withdrawal rights and local layaway protections take priority over the plan. Choosing layaway does not waive them.

Return handling, duties, and taxes

Please package returns securely and include the accessories supplied with the item. Tracking and appropriate insurance are recommended for valuable goods. These recommendations are not additional conditions for exercising statutory rights.

Standard US shipping is free. Standard international shipping is free for eligible orders with a merchandise subtotal of at least USD 2,000 after discounts, excluding shipping, duties, and taxes, to destinations available at checkout. For international orders below that threshold, shipping charges are shown at checkout. See our Shipping Policy for delivery terms.

International buyers are responsible for applicable import duties, taxes, and customs or carrier clearance charges, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Amounts we collect are itemized at checkout; other amounts may be payable directly to the carrier or customs authority. These allocations do not override a legal obligation to reimburse a charge.

We will refund taxes and other amounts we collected where required. Duties or taxes paid directly to a customs authority or carrier may require a separate repayment application; we will provide reasonably available purchase and return documentation to assist. This does not limit any liability we have under applicable law.

Refunds required by law will be made within the applicable deadline. Payment-provider processing time does not extend our legal deadline for issuing the refund. We will not deduct payment-processing fees from a statutory refund where prohibited.

Optional withdrawal form

Use this form only if you wish to withdraw from your purchase. You may instead send any clear withdrawal statement. Do not delay your notice because you cannot complete every field.
